How to help your community. 1. Malaria, along with pneumonia and diarrhea, is a leading cause of death of children under 5. Combined, these preventable and treatable diseases kill nearly 5.6 million children under the age of 5 each year. 2. By providing, mosquito nets, medication, and clean water can help protect children from malaria. 3. By training community health workers to provide basic health care and education services, and we empower them to become permanent resources for their communities. We supplement that care with our Save the Children clinics, which offer treatment in more serious cases, as well as vaccinations, prenatal care, and infant care. 4. Save the Children is on the ground in more than 100 countries worldwide providing the resources vulnerable children need to thrive, including all of the above and more! We are committed to helping children access everything they need to grow up healthy and safe – including health care, medicine, nutritious food, and clean water.
