The Pearl Islands, also known as the Archipiélago de las Perlas or Islas de las Perlas, are a collection of 200 or more islands and islets, many of which are small and uninhabited, that are located in the Gulf of Panama, about 30 miles (48 km) off the Pacific coast of Panama. The most famous island is Isla Contadora, sometimes known as Contadora Island, and is famous for its resorts. The Pearl Islands are a famous setting for reality television shows, notably Survivor.
