Consider using this natural treatment to maintain regularity.

The kiwifruit season starts in October and extends until May. The delectable verdant fruit is very suitable for use in salads, smoothies, and desserts. According to a tiny randomized experiment, there is a possibility that it may provide an additional benefit in relieving persistent constipation. According to the researchers' instructions, a group of over 180 adults from Italy, Japan, and New Zealand, both with and without constipation, participated in two consecutive four-week treatment regimens. They consumed two peeled kiwifruits a day as part of one program.

The individual in the other group consumed 7.5 grams of psyllium, a naturally occurring component present in fiber supplements like Fiberall or Metamucil, on a daily basis. Participants underwent a four-week rest between the two regimens, which were arranged in a random sequence. The findings indicate that both treatments have shown efficacy in improving bowel movements and reducing symptoms of constipation, including straining and abdominal discomfort. Notably, kiwi had somewhat superior effectiveness compared to psyllium. According to scientific research, kiwi fruit is shown to include not only a significant amount of dietary fiber, around 3 grams per serving of half a cup, but also raphides, which are naturally occurring needle-shaped crystals. These components have been observed to contribute to the enhancement of bowel function. The results were disseminated in the June 2023 edition of the American Journal of Gastroenterology.
