My Post-Valentine’s Lunch: A Little Mishap, Good Food & a Stylish Outfit!

Hi everyone! While I’ve been sharing a lot about health recently, I’ve also been up to other things. I have a travel post to share with you all—this was part of my post-Valentine’s activity! We had planned to go out on Valentine’s Day, but due to work, we had to cancel and decided to do it on Sunday after church instead. And let me tell you—it was worth the wait!

Before heading to lunch, we wanted to take a few photos. We originally planned to go somewhere not too far from the church, but then we decided to just do it by the roadside. And just as we were getting into the perfect spot, we suddenly heard a sound—our tire had gotten punctured! 😩 So, there we were, trying to figure out what to do. We had to call for mobile tire assistance, which took about an hour, but it didn’t ruin the day. We still made the most of it!

Now, what made this lunch extra special was that we found a restaurant I actually liked. If you know me, you know I’ve struggled to find restaurants in Glasgow that aren’t just pubs. I love a good, calm restaurant with tasty, filling food, and this one did not disappoint! We got a really nice spot, had an amazing meal, and by the time we got home, we were so full we didn’t even need to eat again later that evening.

Another thing that made this outing special? It was the first time we all dressed up for a proper lunch! Everyone looked so good, and I also switched things up and wore a suit instead of a dress—mainly because the cold had been getting to me all week. But don’t worry—I still wore heels! Of course, I also carried my everyday rubber boots and switched into them when my feet started freezing at the restaurant. Priorities! 😂 Overall, the restaurant was great, and the whole experience was lovely.

Now, let’s talk outfits!

What I Wore for My Post-Valentine’s Outing & Where I Got Everything:

  • Plaid Blazer: Primark (I used to be obsessed with plaids, and even though the obsession has worn off, I still think they’re cute!)
  • Burgundy Turtleneck Sweater: Lipsy London (US size 6)
  • Papaya Jeans: Comfortable and stylish!
  • Black Heeled Sandals: Boohoo (These have made several appearances on my blog—clearly a favorite!)

What do you think—are you a fan of plaid? Let me know! 💕

  16. ¡¡Hola Melody!!
Besitos.

    1. I know, right? Sometimes when everything is going so well, I just start feeling like something might go wrong. But in this year of 2025, we shall not be moved. We shall not be surprised; we will stay calm because God is with us, and nothing can shake us. Thank you for stopping by, Isabel.

  25. It's great you made the most out of the situation. Flat tires happen. It's best to make the most out of things. The photos you took are amazing.
We mostly eat at home nowadays. I think it's because I'm often at work all day, so I really want to chill at home when I finish working. Anyway, we're fortunate in that are so many amazing restaurants here, and most of them are pretty affordable- so I can always eat out when I feel like to. It's great you were able to find a lovely restaurant in Glasgow to enjoy.

I really like your outfit. The plaid blazer and jeans are a great combo. I simply adore plaid, it's one of my favourite patterns. Taking a pair of warm boots to replace the high heels was clever thinking too! I always love your outfits, you have a great sense of style. Fabulous photos, too!

    1. Thanks so much! I really appreciate your kind words! Flat tires can be frustrating, but making the best of it definitely helps. It sounds like you have a nice balance between home-cooked meals and exploring the amazing restaurants in your area—what a great way to treat yourself when you need a break!

And I’m glad you liked my outfit! I love plaid too; it just has such a classic vibe. Warm boots are definitely a must for comfort! Thanks for always being so supportive of my style!

    Saludos.

    1. I’m glad you liked the idea of the second pair of shoes! It’s such a practical solution, especially on days when you’ll be on your feet a lot. I totally get what you mean about heels—they can be brutal! I’ve heard stories of people getting stepped on and it sounds painful! Sneakers are a great way to stay comfortable, especially on a long day like graduation.

  27. You look amazing. I've only been to Primark once as we don't have many near me, but that is a great blazer. And I love a good plaid.

  28. You look so darned cute in that outfit. I love the shoes on you -- If I wore them, I would be a dead woman, or at least hospitalized for a hip or knee replacement! Great blazer and the flowers are lovely too. It looks like a grand lunch and nothing better than being with a friend. Happy week to you!

  33. I love the plaid blazer! There were a lot of tartan and check prints at the recent fashion weeks. How annoying you got a puncture, glad it didn't ruin your day though.
