Paddington In Peru Review: A Netflix Gem Full Of Heart
Paddington in Peru is such a delight to watch. Paddington was informed that his aunt, who is so old, would like to see him, and Paddington had just gotten his British passport. He and his human family were all set up to travel to Peru by flight. They enjoyed the journey, and just when they got to the place where Aunt Lucy stays, he got out of the bus, hurried inside asking, “Where is Aunt Lucy?” And just before anyone could say anything, he was pointed in the direction of her room. When he got there, she wasn’t there. They were told that Aunt Lucy was missing.
He was surprised, and they all stood asking questions. Paddington, not having yet requested that they send a search party, was informed that they already had—and all they found was Aunt Lucy's special bracelet washed down the river, which she never takes off. They also found her glasses, which she only takes off when they’re broken. She can’t see without them. She was lost in the Peruvian Amazon.
That night, he went to Aunt Lucy's room to look around. They called the police, but they weren’t helpful. It turns out that Paddington found a clue in Aunt Lucy's room. She had left a note to start the search at Rumi Rock, a sacred Inca stone circle deep in the jungle. It was the only clear clue for finding Aunt Lucy. Aunt Lucy always said, “When skies are grey, hope is the way.”
Everyone was afraid of going into the jungle, so Paddington told Mr. Brown that he would go alone to find her. The old nun who stays with Aunt Lucy gave Mary a necklace to keep their family safe as Paddington and his family all went to search for Aunt Lucy together.
They hired a boat, which the man told them was the best on the river. They offered them different tours, but Paddington wasn’t having it and said, “We are not sightseers. My Aunt Lucy has gone missing. Now she’s out there somewhere all alone, and I am her only family—and I have lost her.”
They were taken toward the jungle, and the ship’s driver told them she might have gone to El Dorado. The girl on the boat with the sailor told them everyone who searches for El Dorado dies.
Mr. Hunter and his daughter are the sailors of the boat. Mr. Hunter left the boat in search of a quest, and when Paddington and his family woke up, they started looking for Mr. Hunter. Paddington climbed to get the microphone in the boat to call out for him, and that was when he turned the wheel so fast that they had a crash. Their boat started moving in disaster—crashing and stumbling. But just before the boat fully crashed, they all put on life jackets and jumped out.
They walked through the forest in Peru and slept on the ground. Paddington was so sad. Then he had a dream that he found Aunt Lucy. When he met her, he told her that they had been looking for her, but she replied to Paddington, “Can’t you see? It is you who are lost.” He snapped out of the dream, and while walking, fell from a high place into the waterfall area, using his umbrella as a boat. That’s when he found Mr. Hunter at Rumi Rock.
Paddington continued the search for Aunt Lucy and almost got killed by Mr. Hunter who is cursed. But the nun came to their rescue. When they got to El Dorado, the nun revealed her true self—she was also in search of gold in El Dorado. The only way she could find the location was through a bear, which is why she called Paddington. The bracelet belonged to Paddington when he was little and had been rescued from the water by Aunt Lucy. The nun told them she arranged Aunt Lucy’s disappearance to lure Paddington to Peru.
She tied up Mr. Hunter’s daughter and demanded they give her the talisman or she would kill the girl. Mr. Hunter was willing to give up his daughter for gold, but Paddington told him not to lose his daughter because of gold. He hit the nun down and gave Paddington the talisman to open El Dorado.
When he did, it was such a beautiful sight to behold. There were thousands of juicy, fresh oranges. They kept walking and saw other bears. That was when Paddington saw Aunt Lucy and ran to her and gave her a big hug.
While trying to find Aunt Lucy, Paddington also found himself. He came from El Dorado—but instead of staying with his tribe, he decided to stay with Mr. Brown and his human family. The bad nun was also punished.
It's a relaxing movie to watch, better watched than read.

ReplyDeleteI think I'll just join Paddington fans. lol
DeleteInteresante película la que nos narras, aunque no tenía noticia alguna de ella.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
This is the first time watching anything about paddington and i think the bear is cool.
DeleteWe saw this when the kids were visiting last week and oh, how I loved it. (They liked it; I think I might have liked it more, but at least they were good with it!). I was kind of amazed at how well known so many of the cast members were -- and even how in the beginning the guys who gave Paddington the umbrella felt like old friends from "Professor T" and "Unforgotten." Then you add the Oscar reputations of Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton, Olivia Colman and Julie Walters and WOW!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is such a relaxing one to watch.
DeleteA mi me gusto amo a ese oso. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteReally cool bear.

That makes sense. The target audience is children, but since I saw a bank ad with Paddington featured in it last Christmas , I decided to watch it.
DeleteA lovely, funny, family movie. I really enjoyed it. We went with friends and kids and had a really nice time together. Have a nice weekend Melody. 🤗
ReplyDeleteYes, glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteIt sounds like a movie packed with adventure, danger, thrills, and excitement! I remember reading the books to my girls when they were little, but I don't think we've seen a Paddington film. It does sound like a great one for a night of family entertainment, and who can resist a cute and brave little bear such as Paddington? Thanks for your review and take on the film!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Theresa.
DeleteGostei de saber que é um filme relaxante. Bom para um final de semana.

We here in Norway probably don't have the same relationship with Paddington as you do in England. Unfortunately, I haven't seen him on TV, read the books or seen the movie about him. I remember my brother watching him on TV when he was a child. I hope that my grandchildren will have the opportunity to see the movie here in Norway. I wish you a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an entertaining movie for all ages! Thank you for your review, Melody! xxx
ReplyDeleteMr. Paddington has always been one of my favorites. One that I also paid attention to was a movie called Anna. It was pretty good, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 books about Paddington in English in my home! I enjoy this Teddy Bear!

Haven't watched it...sounds like a fun one to watch with the family. Thanks, Melodie.
