Watch Jesus Revolution And Discover Hope That Lasts

Jesus Revolution
is a must-watch movie for everyone, but especially for any young person who feels lost and is asking lots of questions.

I used to wonder what people—especially really young people around my age or younger—are thinking. Particularly when they dress a certain way, speak unpolitely, or do things that are strange or even irritating. Some turn to drugs, and even when it's clearly taking away their life and purpose, they keep going deeper and deeper into it. And I’d ask myself: how can they not control their actions? Don’t they think it would be better to take control of their life?

But after watching Jesus Revolution movie on Netflix, I came to understand that some people have deep questions in their hearts. They’re looking for answers but don’t have anyone to help them find those answers. Some are just looking for a group, a friend, or a place to call home. Some just want someone to believe in them—someone to make them feel seen and to show a little care. That emptiness inside pushes them to do things that help them escape the world they’re in, which is why many turn to drugs, fall into peer pressure, or end up in jail.

There are so many people out there searching for purpose—for something fulfilling. That’s why some fall into bad relationships. Even when things aren’t working, they stay, hoping it’ll change. It’s like they’re on a quest to reach the next stage, even though they’re hurting.

But I’ll tell you this: even if you feel like your life is completely empty, just come to Jesus. He will fill you up. You’ll begin to live a life of purpose. All those questions—some you know how to ask, some you don’t even know how to put into words, and even those you’ve asked before but never felt satisfied with the answers—He can answer them.

This is something I know personally and have tried for myself. When you ask Jesus, when you pray, He answers. God doesn’t just answer prayers—He answers questions.

And what makes this Netflix movie even more beautiful is that it’s based on a true story. It tells the story of one of the biggest spiritual movements in American history, when the Jesus Movement swept across the country. Millions of hippies and young people came to Christ, and it changed lives everywhere.

Jesus Revolution tells the powerful story of a real movement that took place in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It’s about a time when a wave of young people—lost, searching, asking big questions—found themselves in Southern California trying to make sense of life through freedom, self-expression, and all kinds of paths. In the middle of all that, Greg Laurie, just a teenager then, crosses paths with a bold street preacher named Lonnie Frisbee and a pastor, Chuck Smith, who was struggling to connect with the new generation.

Together, they did something no one expected—they opened the doors of the church to the very people others were closing them on. What started as a small act of faith and love became one of the biggest spiritual awakenings in American history, what many now call the Jesus Movement. This film captures that moment when God used ordinary people to spark something extraordinary across the country.

Directed by Jon Erwin and Brent McCorkle, and based on Greg Laurie’s own story, the movie shows how all three men—Greg, Lonnie, and Chuck—each came from different backgrounds but were brought together by the same longing for truth and purpose. It shows Greg’s journey from chasing the wrong things—like drugs and empty fun—to discovering something real in Christ. It shows how Chuck went from being a strict pastor with an empty church to someone who welcomed hippies with open arms. And it shows how Lonnie, passionate and a little wild, was used by God to bring the gospel to the streets.

Even though critics had mixed feelings, this film made a huge impact, earning far more than its budget and touching lives around the world. It’s not just a story—it’s a reminder that God still moves in times when people are hurting and searching. The most powerful part? It really happened. The baptisms in the ocean, the crowds under the big tent, and Time magazine covering the revival—it's all real history.

And what’s even more meaningful is seeing how, through the ups and downs, brokenness and healing, God still brought beauty out of it all. Greg eventually became a pastor and founded Harvest Fellowship. And even though Lonnie and Chuck had their differences, the film ends with a beautiful reminder that God used both of them in a mighty way—and the movement they helped spark is still changing lives today.

Confesso que estava perdida a procura de um filme que realmente tocasse o meu coração e de toda a minha família. Depois que assisti a série The Chosen, com a participação honrosa do mesmo ator que participa deste filme, assistirei o mais depressa possível essa produção!

    1. Oh my goodness, I believe that elderly people are extremely fortunate to have grown up in a morally oriented generation, because young people are currently struggling with a variety of issues, and some government policies are not assisting them in overcoming these challenges.

    1. This movie isn't about the life of Jesus, but it does portray him. It's actually about a revival that happened in America and how young people came to God. I also enjoy movies about Jesus.

  14. Taking control of your life is difficult because we experience all the consequences of our own decisions on our own skin. It takes maturity to do that. I'll definitely watch it! Thanks for the review and best regards.🤗

“Why Noah Found Grace” Wednesday, April 30, 2025

Key Verse: “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God” (Genesis 6:8, 9). Text —Genesis 6:1-10 Message: The word ‘Grace’ in our memory verse refers to favour. The Bible records that Noah was just and righteous amid a people whose way of living made God regret that He had made man. He did not allow the pressure from the world to make him conform to their practices. He chose to be different and to honor God. He was a righteous man. His righteousness did not go unnoticed by God and as a result, God chose to keep him and his family safe during the flood and used him to preserve life on earth. Paul Yonggi Cho further defines this kind of grace for believers as, “A good will given out of unconditional, overflowing love with no expectation of reward or payment.” When we are born again and walk righteously, we find favour in the sight of God, ‘for thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield’ (Psalm 5:12). Favour before God begins by being born again, then abundant blessings and benefits become our possession. Are you born again? Quote: He was a righteous man Challenge: Righteousness breeds God’s favour and blessings. Prayer for today: Lord, help me to be righteous in Your sight always.
